Organizing - it seems to be a never-ending process.
Over the years I've used various ways to capture my ideas. At the moment I carry around a "pad" of index cards. I bought them at a dollar store of some sort. The cards are wire bound, lined on one side, blank on the other and held closed with an elastic strap. Each card is perforated close to the rings.
So, when I need to jot down an idea, snippet of conversation or some brilliant insight I pull out my index card "pad" and capture it in ink. When I get home I tear the card off the pad and file it in the appropriate place.... well, at least I do sometimes! :)

Hi - I popped over here from Facebook. Nice blog, NJ!
This article touches on an important subject - motivation. If the motivating factor is fame and fortune, you're unaware of publishing realities.
For a Christian Writer, doing what God gifted and called you to do is the paramount issue. I suggest Marlene Bagnull's book, "Write His Answer," to settle that question in your heart.
Great article.
Blessings,
Susan :)

[...] 3. How much previous writing have you done? If you’re new at writing for publication, you should probably write a number of short stories before you try to write a novel. So your next goal might be to write 5, 10, or more short stories. Yes, it’s a somewhat different kind of writing, but it gives you a chance to work on most of the same skills you’ll need for writing a novel. It’s a bit like learning scales when you’re learning how to play the piano. See my earlier blog – Top 10 reasons why you should write 25 short stories before you write a nove...
