I’ve had three opportunities lately to say what I thought about the Christian retail situation in Canada.
One was for an article which is in the November/December issue of Faith Today. Now, I have no idea what the finished article will look like or how much of what I said in the interview will get into it, so I’ll be curious to read it. I totally enjoyed the interview with the article’s author, journalist Doris Fleck.
The second was for a report on 100 Huntley Street which is to be aired Friday, Nov. 15. I talked for well over half an hour, but there may simply be a two minute clip – no idea at this point. Again, I had a great time talking to Magdalene John, who produced the report, and her cameraman.
The third was the opportunity to write an editorial giving my opinion for ChristianWeek, which is just out. That one is just me – my opinion – for what it’s worth.
By the way, along with my editorial is a companion piece called, "Who’s filling the gap left by Mitchell books?" (referring to the distribution part of Mitchell’s, and not the bookstores). The article seems to have been done through interviews with other Canadian distirbutors and therefore fails to mention our distributor, STL Distribution, who has been working hard to service bookstores in Canada from its base in the United States. Yep, it’s a crazy world.
